Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Tourism Center is a unit within University of Minnesota Extension. The mission of the Tourism Center is to empower, prepare, and support the tourism industry, and communities engaging in tourism, for success and sustainability. Advised by a 22- person Advisory Committee, the Tourism Center works with a wide variety of internal and external colleagues and partners on educational programming and training, applied research, as well as industry and community outreach and engagement. The Tourism Center recently received direct appropriations from the 2023 Minnesota state legislature, to create an online customer service training program. Free of charge to Minnesota residents, the program will provide basic skill level training on customer service. The program will be mobile-device friendly and asynchronous. As the program is yet to be created, statistics about current usage and current vendors are not available.
