Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Minnesota Zoo requests proposals for the development, design and fabrication of a custom interpretive cart or crate for the moose exhibit. This interpretive cart or crate will serve two purposes: (1) it will be a secure, weather-proof storage location for moose artifacts and props, and (2) it will be a sturdy display area for interpretive staff and volunteers to engage Zoo guests with moose artifacts and props. Since this cart or crate will hold interpretive props and artifacts, design and fabrication must include appropriate shelving and protective or padded storage containers. The interpretive cart or crate will be housed outdoors next to the Zoo’s moose exhibit during the summer months. During the fall, winter and spring, it will be kept indoors in the Zoo’s Minnesota Trail Lodge. The cart/crate should be simple, inviting and attractive to Zoo guests. Its aesthetic style should complement the inside of the Minnesota Trail Lodge. It must also be durable and capable of withstanding the unsheltered, outdoor summer elements. When not in use, the cart or crate must be vandal- and tamper-proof in the Zoo’s busy guest environment.
