The Minnesota Department of Education intends to proceed with a departmental membership to Chief Offices of State Library Agencies (COSLA). COSLA is the 501c3 non-profit association of the state governmental entities charged with statewide library development. Membership is applicable to the states and territories of the United States and the District of Columbia. The head or acting head of the state department, division or other organizational unit of the branch directly charged with the statewide library development or their designated representative services as representative for the entity. Each state is entitled to only one member, though that individual's senior staff and deputy directors are encouraged to participate in the various aspects of membership.
