The project consists of the full replacement of 2 concrete dams constructed in 1965. The structures are in fair condition but have several operational issues. Both dams are classified as Low Hazard, Class III dams. The goal of the project is to improve water level management capabilities, minimize flow obstruction from debris, and improve accessibility for maintenance equipment. Additional items including remote monitoring of headwater and tail water elevations, flow meters, vandal proof remote adjustment of gates, and video monitoring will be considered based on funding availability. A feasibility study was completed for this project in 2021. Conceptual design options were completed for 3 replacement structure types. A crest gate with electricity has been chosen as the preferred option.
