Specifications include, but are not limited to: Boynton Health Clinic is located in the heart of the medical campus and is an important part of medical services offered at the University. The Boynton Health facility was built over a 45-year time frame and has included five major construction projects beginning in 1948 and concluding in 1993. It is 147,293 square feet and has five stories with two basements for a total of seven floors. The building was originally designed as a student health center and has been renovated many times. The current use is mainly as the University Health Clinic and Pharmacy, and will continue to be used as such for the foreseeable future. The University, through Capital Project Management and in conjunction with Boynton Health Services, commissioned and completed a project with intent to determine the condition of the building infrastructure, envelope, and structural systems as well as to determine the viability of use for the next 20 to 25years. As part of that study, the existing building envelopes, bricks, capping stones, masonry, mortar, and windows in all building sections were analyzed and studied. While some sections/buildings were found to be in good shape, some buildings were found to need complete windows replacements, brick repairs, and tuckpointing. Phase 1 of this Project will include these brick repairs, tuckpointing, and complete window replacements in the 1958 building as identified in the AE Design Development (DD) Documentations included with this RFP.
