The Kent HOME Consortium: consisting of Kent County and the City of Wyoming, operating through Kent County’s Community Action Department, is seeking project proposals from eligible non-profit developers to newly construct or rehabilitate existing single-family homes. The Non-profit developer(s) is to manage all construction activities, homebuyer application process, and eventual sale to an eligible household. Kent County will use federal Housing and Urban Development HOME grant funds to provide up to $150,000 in development assistance per home on a monthly cost reimbursement basis. The nonprofit developer(s) is responsible for securing a 10% Match of the requested HOME amount and for financing the remainder of the development cost through other sources. Other source funds (3rd Party Development Funding) can be repaid through eventual sale to a household meeting HUD’s HOME Program homebuyer guideline.
