1.1. Product Specifications The Contractor must provide the following: A. Service Specifications: a. Services shall be performed according to schedules which have been mutually agreed upon by the DNR Program Manager and the Contractor. Any changes in service must be pre-approved by the DNR Program Manager. b. Services may be performed Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. c. During inclement weather services may be rescheduled at the discretion of the DNR Program Manager. The DNR Program Manager or designee shall notify the Contractor by phone if regular service is not needed or should be rescheduled. d. Contractor shall be responsible for repair, replacement or cleanup of damages incurred to State property or private owned property as a result of carelessness of the Contractor while performing Contract Activities. B. Mowing Specifications: a. Mowing shall be performed every two weeks or as requested by the DNR Program Manager. b. Mowing areas include shoulders of roadways, parking lot islands and all open grass areas. c. Before mowing, the Contractor shall pick up and properly dispose of all litter, debris, etc., in areas to be mowed. No litter or debris shall be driver over by any cutting device. d. Grass shall be mowed to a height of two (2”) to four inches (4”). e. Mowing equipment shall be kept at a distance from and not cause damage to trees, fences, and fence/sign posts. Push mowers shall be used near the museum building. f. Grass clippings and debris must be blown/swept from walkways. C. Trimming Specifications: a. Trimming shall be performed every two weeks or as requested by the DNR Program Manager. b. Trimming shall be performed with string type trimmers or hand shears around structures, trees, curbs, fences, posts, walks, trials, etc. c. Grass and weeds around fence/sign posts shall be trimmed by a means not damaging to the trees’ bark or to the posts. d. New growth of vines, trees, etc., shall be trimmed a minimum of two (2’) feet around fencing, bike racks, etc. e. Grass and weeds shall be trimmed a minimum of six (6’) from the edges of drives, parking lots, ramps and walkways, including around rocks. f. Grass and week clippings must be blown/swept from walkways and trails. D. Removal of Leaves and Debris from Trail Pathways: a. Leaves and debris shall be cleared or removed from the crushed limestone trail pathways – Historic Overlook Trail pathway (1/4 miles long) and Geologic Formations Trail pathway (1/3 mile long) – as requested by the DNR Program Manager E. Weed Control on Hardscapes: a. Weed vegetation in cracks in parking lots and sidewalks and in limestone trail pathways shall be removed by applying herbicide or removed by manual means. b. Weed control will include Forge Road entrance and exit shoulders and both sides of the US-41 entrance road and drainage ditches near the museum parking lot. c. Contractor shall provide and use Avenger Organic Weed Killer or comparable replacement for weed control.
