Part 1 Plumbing & Gas 1. The plumbing drains in the basement were installed so they were going uphill. There is no proper fall in the drain lines in the plumbing. All of the water backs up into the first-floor bathroom and sink. Requirements: 1. Demolition & Removal: o Identify and remove all improperly sloped drain lines. o Dispose of any removed piping and debris in accordance with local regulations. 2. Drain Line Reinstallation: o Install new drain lines with a minimum slope of 1/4 inch per foot for pipes 2 inches or smaller, and 1/8 inch per foot for larger diameter pipes, per local plumbing code. o Ensure proper alignment with existing vent and waste systems. o Use schedule 40 PVC or ABS piping, or other code-approved material. o Secure pipe hangers/supports at proper intervals to maintain slope integrity. 3. Connections & Sealing: o Properly connect new pipes to existing plumbing with code-approved fittings. o Ensure all joints are watertight and tested under pressure. 4. Testing & Inspection: o Perform a water flow test to verify proper drainage without backup. o Conduct a final inspection with local authorities to confirm compliance with applicable plumbing codes. 5. Restoration & Cleanup: o Restore any disturbed flooring or walls to pre-existing conditions. o Remove all construction debris and leave the work area clean.
