This Request for a Proposal (RFP) is seeking a contractor capable of providing supplementary instruction in the core academic subject areas as well as required parental involvement activities to eligible students and parents in private non-public schools within the School District of the City of Detroit. This RFP is for direct supplementary services that will include during the day support, extended school day, summer school services and parental involvement opportunities. All staff providing direct services to students must meet the following criteria: (1) provide evidence of being highly qualified in the content area in which instruction is provided, (2) Successful completion of criminal history record check conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) pursuant to “School Safety” legislation (2005 PA 129-131 and 138)., and (3) registered with Michigan’s MOECS, Michigan’s Online Educator Certification System http://www.michigan.gov/moecs.
