Under general supervision the Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic assigned to the Fleet Operations Division of the General Services Department will perform duties related to the preventative maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the City’s medium/heavy duty trucks, on/off road equipment, including but not limited to emergency vehicles, park maintenance equipment, construction equipment, and generators (both stationary and mobile). Work is performed on vehicles and equipment that is owned by the City of Detroit.
