Specifications include, but are not limited to: As part of a USDA Farm to School Agricultural Education Turnkey Grant, DPSCD’s Office of School Nutrition is seeking a contractor to provide curriculum to complement the School Garden Program. The District is seeking a minimum of 12 lessons for each key age demographic (Elementary, Middle, and High School) that will be cross curricular and multi-disciplinary, but with emphasis placed on Science. Curriculum should highlight STEAM principals (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). The curriculum must meet state and District educational standards to serve as a valuable component that connects school gardens to academic achievement. Contractor should also develop complementary hand outs and resources to supplement the core curriculum. Curriculum should be age-appropriate and suitable for diverse student body. Curriculum should be hands-on, to be used in conjunction with school gardens, however, some lessons can be designed for winter months to allow for year-round implementation. Prospective vendors must submit samples of work for review by the evaluation committee.
