A. Equipment Specifications: 1. Contractor shall be required to use one of the following vacuum type sweepers as approved through Ionia County Road Department or equivalent. a. Vac-All b. Elgin Whirlwind 2. All equipment must be dual controlled and equipped with right and left gutter brooms. B. Sweeping Procedures: All sweeping shall be done with the flow of traffic. Each section of road being serviced shall be completed unless otherwise directed. C. Dust Control: All sweeping must be accomplished with use of water. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to secure sources for this operation. D. Debris Removal: 1. Contractor shall assume full responsibility for removal and disposal of all material gathered in accordance with current rules and regulations of governing agencies, Public Health, Natural Resources, and Transportation. 2. Non-Sweepable Debris: Upon receiving twenty-four (24) hours notification by the contractor, the Ionia County Road Department will attempt to free the area to be swept of all debris of a size the sweeper unit physically cannot handle. E. Emergency Call Out: Bidder shall have available at all times equipment and labor to respond within one (1) or two (2) hours to all emergency type call-outs within the areas described in the general specifications and exhibits.
