Task 1: Assist EGLE in securing access from the current property owner for each located, pre-existing, inactive USGS monitoring well, including verbal and written communication with the property owner as well as collection of signed access agreements. Agreements will include access for EGLE, and their subcontractors, working on the Statewide Groundwater Monitoring Network, and have negotiated terms for well ownership through property transfers. All signed access agreements will be electronically scanned and provided to EGLE as PDF files. Property access will be summarized in Excel (or similar format) and provided to EGLE. At a minimum, the following fields will be included: Monitoring well site number, monitoring well site name, property address, access road type and condition (if applicable), property owner first and last name, property owner phone number, property owner email (if provided), property owner mailing address (if different than well address), date and method (phone, mail, in-person) of each attempt to make contact, if access was secured or denied, and if a signed access agreement has been received. For wells where access is secured: Task 2: Survey each located, pre-existing, inactive USGS monitoring well. Document the Top of Casing (TOC) elevation and ground surface elevation referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). Document the GPS coordinates of the well, in decimal degrees, referenced to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). Document the type of well, well diameter, casing material, casing height above ground, and well pad dimensions.
