Specifications include, but are not limited to: All snow in excess of two (2) inches will be removed at least one (1) hour before the starting time of each building when school is in session and before scheduled building activities. Access road and aisles to the bus garage lot must be cleared by 5:30 a.m. The first buses leave at 5:45 a.m. All route buses are out of the lot between 6:30 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. The bus lot should be cleared during that time. Lots may not be cleared the night prior unless no more accumulation occurs. On all holidays and school closing days, it is the district’s discretion to request snow removal. The district’s head groundskeeper will make final decisions when questions arise as to whether plowing is necessary. Non-approved snow removal services will not be paid for. Salting of sidewalks and parking lots is not part of the base contract. Please provide a separate cost as indicated on the “Snowplowing Bid Form” per building. The contractor shall spread salt/ice melt only at spread rates approved by the district’s head groundskeeper. The location of plowed snow piles will be mutually agreed upon by the district and contractor. The contractor will agree to replace and/or repair anything damaged as a result of snow removal. This includes but is not limited to turf, shrubbery, trees, benches, and curbs. All repairs must meet the approval of the district’s head groundskeeper and shall be completed by no later than May 1 of each season.
