Specifications include, but are not limited to: A.PLOWING AND SALTING1)The contractor will plow when snow accumulation overnight is 2” or greater.2)Contractor will salt lots, drives and other designated areas after each plowing cycle, unless otherwise directed by the owner.3)Contractor will push all snow to areas designated by the owner. If snow is pushed or plowed into inappropriate areas, the contract will remove snow at contractor’s expense.B.GENERAL CONDITIONS1)Snow Removal Services must be available at the awarded rate at all times between November 2017 and April 2020.2)Snow plowing will be done when snow accumulation exceeds 2” or at the owners direction.3)Salting will occur with each plowing cycle, unless otherwise directed by the owner.4)Owner reserves the right to have contractor salt at other times, including weekends and evenings.5)The Owner reserves the right to postpone Snow Removal operations when weather, financial or other conditions necessitate a reduction of the Snow Removal services.6 ) Contractor’s Employees will conduct themselves in a manner appropriate for a schools setting. No swearing, cursing, or inappropriate comments made while on school sites. 7 ) In no circumstances shall there be alcohol or alcohol containers on school sites or in the Contractors vehicles. 8 ) Smoking is illegal and not permitted on school grounds. The Contractor shall ensure all employees observe this law. 9 ) The Contractor shall provide the Owner with a means of immediate communication regarding site completion, emergencies or any other occasion that may arise. A cellular phone number or pager number of the person responsible for managing this contract must be provided on the bid proposal form. 1 0 ) The Contractor shall provide a list of available Snow Removal equipment for this contract. This list must be submitted with the Bid Proposal. 1 1 ) Additional services or operations such as front end loaders, dump trucks, etc. shall be negotiated on an as needed basis and approved in advance. Non-approved work will not be paid for. Bid prices for some of these services shall be provided as requested on the Bid Proposal Form. The successful bidder is not guaranteed any additional work aside from the base bid. 1 2 ) Under no circumstances is the contractor to dump snow or ice from other sites on district property. 1 3 ) The district reserves the right to determine equivalency, quality, and any other determining factors of the bids.
