Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful vendor(s) is (are) responsible for complete snowplowing when 2 or more snow has accumulated by 6:00 a.m. each day. It is the responsibility of the vendor(s) to keep the lots as free of ice as possible. For example, slush that is caused by thawing or rain is to be plowed when there is the possibility that it may freeze and create a hazardous condition. Each vendor is responsible for removing drifting snow from drives and parking lots when requested by Kent County. Each vendor is to replace and/or repair all parking lot bumpers, sod, sprinkler heads, etc. that may be displaced and/or damaged by plowing. Any plowing necessary in April is to be included in the bid price. All plowing and snow removal shall be done at a time and in a manner that will not interfere with the normal operations of each department. The vendor shall clear all perimeter sidewalks, steps, ramps and handicapped ramps before 6:30 a.m. if there is a nighttime snowfall that continues during the day the vendor shall continue to clear the lots during the day to preclude safety hazards. Keep fire hydrants clear and visible. Entrances, exits and roadways are to be cleared by 4:00 p.m. when 3 or more snow accumulates during the daylight hours. The vendor(s) are to return and complete the job before the next mornings required completion time. Snow can not be dumped in drives or loading dock. Salt must be added as need to upper lot to keep it slip free. Vendor will also be responsible for salt on the 15 parking spots of the lower lot, the hill and sidewalks. Sidewalk to be cleared 6 feet and 7 days a week.
