The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Bureau and Bridges Statewide Sign Shop is responsible for the fabrication and maintenance of all highway signs in the State of Michigan. The fabrication shop will use the machine to apply 3M reflective sheeting to extruded aluminum plank in compliance with the specs to build the required Type I signs. 1.1. General Requirements A. The horizonal laminator must be the latest model in current production, satisfactory to meet the performance and design character required in the specification. B. The horizontal laminator for extruded aluminum must be delivered fully assembled and equipped with the manufacturer’s standard equipment necessary for operation. C. Manufacturer’s product literature for the make and model being offered must be submitted with bidder’s proposal. The literature must show supporting data for the performance and design specifications described within Attachment 1 – Product Specifications.
