Specifications include, but are not limited to: The objective of this contract is to insure that sidewalks, driveways and parking areas, stairs, doorways, including all fire exits, front and back ramps, are made accessible approximately one (1) hour prior to the appropriate shift changes. The agency representative shall designate the shift change to begin operations. This determination will be determined by storm conditions and/or predictions as well as the agency shift changes, (6:30 AM. 2:00 PM. and 10:30 PM.) All plowing must be completed at all sites ½ hour before shift changes. OTHER: In the event of a snowfall of 1" or less, sleet or freezing rain, the contractor shall contract the agency representative and secure instructions for every site. SAND AND SALT MIXTURE, DE-ICER: The sand and salt mixture will be 7 parts sand to 2 parts salt. The De-icer shall be of an Agency approved brand, non-injurious to concrete and will be required for use on all concrete areas such as stairs, sidewalks and ramps. Use sand only on wooden ramps and decks. The agency will provide containers of sand at each location. INITIAL SANDING AND SALTING: The contractor shall provide an initial application of sand and salt mixture with de-icer after completion of the storm. ADDITIONAL SANDING AND SALTING: Additional sanding, salting and de-icing may be necessary as climatic conditions fluctuate around the freezing point.
