Roadside mowing and litter pickup services are necessary to maintain roadsides, and medians in a manner that provides a safe, environmentally compliant, and aesthetically pleasing roadside for the motoring public. The result of this RFP will be a contract covering the 2026 through 2028 mowing seasons with two (2) one-year renewal options. Quantities indicated in Schedule B are estimates, actual work performed will be as needed or as determined by the Program Manager or designee. The State is not obligated to purchase any listed quantity. SCOPE The Contractor will provide roadside mowing and litter pickup/disposal services along trunkline areas under MDOT jurisdiction within the city limits of Pontiac. Services will include mowing, hand trimming, and removal and disposal of litter. (the “Contract Activities”). The Contractor will provide sufficient labor/personnel, equipment, tools, material, supervision, and any other services or items required to keep the roadsides and medians in a consistent, clean landscape. Services will be provided on the prescribed schedule or as requested by the MDOT Program Manager or designee. REQUIREMENTS General Requirements Services will be performed on roadsides, on medians, and on MDOT rights-of-way along segments and loops of Woodward Avenue (M-1), Huron Street (M-59), and Cass Avenue (Business US-24). See Schedule C - Maps and Acreage for service areas. Total of service areas is 11.615 acres. The Contractor is strongly encouraged to visit the service locations and assess service requirements prior to submitting an RFP response. Services will be provided on a bi-weekly (every other week) basis beginning approximately May 1, or as directed by MDOT, and ending October 31. Each service occurrence to complete 11.615 acres is a “cycle” – approximately 16 cycles during each mowing season.
