Michigan State University has moved past Campus Solutions deployment, the RCPD desires to get the RCPD data systems modernization in process, building on the 2018 efforts. MSU recognizes the challenges in using the existing platform as connected to new campus architectures and had dedicated staffing to keep it working reliably and to create feature enhancements. Additionally, the public web services platform these systems are developed on is increasingly obsolete. As program efforts and demands grew, refinements became increasingly difficult on an aging public web services platform and the size of today's dataset is providing operational challenges to the aging architecture. To remain compliant, and connected to today's data systems, RCPD data structures need refinement and/or migration to new platforms.
