Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Material will be held in two locations (“the Premises”) with the primary on the southernmost end of Kent County’s Recycling Center which can be seen from Breton Avenue, just north of the 52nd Street intersection. The entrance for this recycling area is located south off the main drive to the City’s Public Works complex at 5068 Breton Rd SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. The secondary location is Pine Hill Cemetery at 1102 52nd Street SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. 2. A typical hauling season process at our primary premises is as follows: a. The City generally opens for the collection of leaves in October and Contractor typically first hauls in mid-November. During the season, an estimated 50-60 loads are hauled in the month of November. b. At least two (more if necessary at peak season), 40 yard containers are kept on site, loaded by the City, and the Contractor swaps it out daily as needed (as scheduled by the City). c. Leaves are accepted by the City until the first week of December. An estimated 5-10 loads are hauled in the month of December. d. Christmas trees are accepted after the holiday, until mid-January. The City chips the trees and keeps them in a pile separate from the leaves. When the last bit of leaves is hauled for the season, the City will mix the chipped trees in with them. 3. A typical hauling season process at our Pine Hill Cemetery premises is as follows: a. One 30-40 yard container is kept on site, loaded by the City, and the Contractor swaps it out as needed 2-3 times annually (as scheduled by the City). 4. The Contractor shall: a. Provide 30- to 40-yard roll-off containers on the Premises to be loaded with the Material by City personnel using the City’s front-loader; b. Cover the loads as required by law and/or regulation for transportation over public roadways prior to removal of the containers from the Premises; c. Remove the containers and enclosed Material from the Premises and provide for legal disposal of the Material, including but not limited to recycling and/or resale as mulch.
