Specifications include, but are not limited to: Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians (LTBB) Health Department receives funding to assist its Citizens and Community in improving their health and well-being. One of these ways is through the LTBB Community Health Program’s Homegrown project which provided local fresh produce at no cost to its Citizens and community, which not only provides local fresh produce on a u-pick basis, but also to provide an outdoor physical activity for the community. LTBB is soliciting a contractor to perform the following services for the LTBB Homegrown Project: A. LTBB has set aside the following acreage at LTBB’s properties listed below for plantng some of these crops. • Cemetery Rd: 10 Acres • Murray Rd: 9 Acres B. Must use as much LTBB designated property as possible to provide a conventional u-pick garden to LTBB community. Designated growing sites to be agreed upon by Unit Director and Contractor. C. In addition, may also set aside and use a portion of your garden space or farm along with LTBB’s property. D. Provide all materials and equipment necessary to prepare and plant the sites set aside for LTBB's Homegrown Project use. E. Provide all materials and equipment necessary to grow these crops: tomato varieties, sweet corn, Indian corn, squash, pumpkins, potatoes, and strawberries. F. Prepare land, plant, weed, and irrigate the sites where the above crops are grown. G. Minimize use of pesticides and herbicides in producing these crops and provide growing plan to Unit Director for approval. H. Communicate with Community Health designated staff as produce achieves peak ripeness and agree on u-pick sessions for the LTBB community. I. Community Health will promote the u-pick sessions with other Homegrown Project events J. Provide an adequate amount of each crop to support several u-pick sessions for the LTBB community.
