Specifications include, but are not limited to: The current staff member that works with the Agricultural Preservation Board to implement the PDR program performs a variety of functions which includes, but is not limited to, the following: - Managing the PDR application process including the scoring and appraisal process. - Maintaining and cultivating positive relationships with potential and current public and private contributors - Developing grant applications for federal, state, and local grant opportunities - Managing the budget of the Kent County Agricultural Preservation Fund - Assisting in the management of a PDR endowment fund and conducting fundraising activities to grow the fund - Working with technical service providers (appraisers, surveyors, closing agent, etc.) to complete tasks - Providing technical assistance to PDR applicants as they work through the process from approval to closing - Coordinating the PDR closing process including working with the Countys Fiscal Services Department, and Corporate Counsel. - Conducting annual monitoring of PDR easements - Preparing reports of the PDR process for funders, County Administration, and other partners - Coordinating education and fundraising events for the PDR Program, including closing celebrations and presentations to stakeholders. - Monitoring state and federal funding issues that may impact the Purchase of Development Rights program - Working with elected and appointed local government officials from various cities, villages, and townships throughout Kent County and in adjacent communities - Providing staff support to the Agricultural Preservation Board including: developing agendas, taking meeting notes, preparing communications for Board members, preparing presentations, etc
