- Clear Cut details approximately 6.5-acre clear-cut areas, primarily mature red pine stands with some oak, ash, and aspen mixed in. Unless otherwise marked, no tree removal will be completed within 10 ft of the top of the riverbank or within 30 ft of the dragon trail’s edge. Other trees to be 6 left standing in the cut areas will be marked before timber cut, and the contractor will do their best not to damage them. Other tree buffer areas will be marked so they are not removed. - The county is removing these trees to develop a new county marina. In addition to the price bid, a contractor's previous experience and how quickly the contractor can be onsite to remove the trees will be a big factor in who is selected. As soon as the sale is complete, the Road Commission will start final land clearing and road/lot construction, so the timber sale timeframe is very important.
