Specifications include, but are not limited to: Proposer shall provide comprehensive Parental Involvement Programs to parents of EAA students. The goal is to increase the participation of parents in regular and meaningful communication in an effort to increase student achievement in English Language Arts, Math, Science and/or Social Studies. Studies have found that students with involved parents are more likely to earn high grades and test scores, pass their classes and earn credits, attend school regularly and graduate and go on to postsecondary education. Services include, but are not limited to, the following: - Provide a flexible program that should be available to parents during school hours or after school hours depending upon the school - Work with the school to tailor the program to fit the specific needs of the parents identified to receive services. - Collaborate with school administration to schedule and/or offer the Parental Involvement Program. - Encourage parents to be actively involved in their childs education by providing one or more of the following areas to parents to help increase student achievement: Establishing routines rules and high expectations helping students with developmental disorders increasing academic performance understanding technology understanding no child left behind and what it means for my child test taking conflict resolution building school and family connectivity and academic content expectations. - Creating workshops designed for parents as beneficial resources for the childs classrooms. - Ensuring that parents are aware of and take advantage of systems created within the EAA to assist them with being involved while also monitoring their childs education experience via the EAAs online system for reviewing grades, attendance, homework assignments, etc. - Creating workshops designed for teachers/principals on effective ways to work with parents. - Providing a school approved survey to parents as needed for program evaluation.
