Specifications include, but are not limited to: A nurse will be provided 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Onoccasion, the 40 hours may involve a Saturday or Sunday.The successful contractor will provide another nurse trained at the GVRCin the event that the primary assigned nurse is unavailable to report to theGVRC or is on vacation. The primary nurse and substitute nurse arerequired to have an orientation to the GVRC program prior to assignment.In the event that the nurse is requested to work on a holiday, GVRC shallreimburse the contractor 1.5 times the hourly rate. Holidays are NewYear's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, ThanksgivingDay and Christmas Day.In the event that more than 40 hours per week is required, GVRC shallprovide, in writing, pre-authorization approval and shall reimburse thecontractor 1.5 times the hourly rate.Prior to a nurse being placed at GVRC, a criminal background check anda DHS abuse/neglect check must be made and the results provided toGVRC management.2.Nursing DutiesNurses shall perform all appropriate LPN duties including but not limitedto:a. making nursing rounds in the building,b. evaluating youth,c. making assessments of new residentsd. assisting the physiciane. providing first aid to staff and residentsf. conducting lab samples for Michigan State Policeg. administering immunizationsh. conducting HIV counseling and testingi. researching health insurance coverage for residents needing outsidecare inputting health information into the Care Information Systemj. ordering medical supplies and other administrative and programsupport servicek. tracking medical records
