DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide and install a new fire alarm system for Oak Park and Northville facilities. One site shall be completed at the time. The scope of work includes, but it’s not limited to, the provision and installation of a new system, devices, wires, certification, and testing for each site, and demolition of the current fire alarm systems and their associated devices, wires, etc. Existing raceways may be used if in good condition and meet the location requirements for the new device. Provide labor, materials, programming, and any other equipment or means deemed necessary for a complete installation and full operational system, per current codes. Existing equipment may need to be connected and/or monitored by the fire alarm system, such as hoods, fire suppression, etc. If compatible with the new system, existing tamper and waterflow switches can be used, but new wiring is required. Since this is a delegated design, it’s expected that the awarded contractor will hire a certified fire alarm company for final drawings and submission for the plan review process. The fire alarm company should also include a site assessment for design accuracy, issuance of drawings for construction, and code compliance. For additional details, refer to the project drawings and specifications. The buildings contain hazardous materials, please refer to the reports provided (for reference only) before commencing the work.
