Technician will utilize data recovery skills to enhance MSP’s ability to prosecute child sexual predators and identify suspects and victims of high technology crimes. MSP CCU offices maintain the critical infrastructure and data networks needed for these Contractor positions. The Forensic Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Intake of evidence for various law enforcement agencies. This includes authoring reports to document the handling of evidence. Release of evidence, including documentation. Forensic imaging of computer hardware and software, including mobile devices. Assist with investigations into computer-related criminal activity, including but not limited to, coordination and direction of forensic activities on computer-related equipment, networks, and information systems. Assist with the seizure of computer-related evidence, preparation of search warrants, and preparation of investigative information for Court purposes. Generate investigative correspondence consistent with Departmental protocol. Filing paperwork related to investigations Schedule and supervise on-site defense reviews, including the review of hardware to ensure CSAM is not released/possessed by the defense review team. Maintain and update the Michigan ICAC website. Consistent and reliable communication with the selected worksite team leader and the statewide commander and assistant commander of the Cyber Section.
