Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of this project includes the design of replacement pins and the construction oversight during the installation of the new pins and other items listed below. The existing trunnion pins were designed and installed in 1933. The new trunnion pins shall be designed to current standards, using state of the art design and materials. In addition to the trunnion pin replacement, the following improvements are also to be included in the design and construction: 1. Evaluation of available de-icing systems for preventing the buildup on ice on the upstream face of the dam and gates. Recommendation of the most cost-effective alternative is also required. Design of the recommended system. 2. Design of a system to temporarily isolate the Obermeyer gate to allow performance of repairs and maintenance by plant personnel, under dry conditions. 3. Design of a guard to prevent the cable from the gate hoists from rubbing on the walkway support steel in the event debris becomes lodged behind the hoist cable, or design of a deflection system to prevent debris from getting caught behind the cables.
