Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Develop Medical Needs Training Package The Contractor must: 1) Develop and provide detailed Pre-Service Institute (PSI) training material for MDHHS-OWDT by November 1, 2024. Training material must be delivered to both public and private agency child welfare workers and supervisors. This includes both new hires and experienced staff and must address the medical and mental health needs of children. 2) Develop training topics in consultation with MDHHS-OWDT, representatives from the Medical Advisory Committee and other key stakeholders. 3) Focus training materials on how child welfare staff can utilize medical information during investigations to identify child abuse and neglect and provide medical and mental health solutions for children in the care and custody of the State of Michigan. Training topics for the required PSI training include, but are not limited to: a) Child Protection Teams (CPT). b) Outcomes of child abuse evaluations. c) Types of child maltreatment. d) Characteristics of physical bruises. e) Physical abuse red flags. f) Physical punishment vs. physical abuse. g) Types of burns. h) Types of fractures.
