BID 1: Excavation – Priority 1 (Must be completed first) Grading the perimeter around the building to effectively keep water away from the foundation and crawlspace. Install a French drain system and backfill sloping away from the building. BID 2: Foundation – Priority 2 (Must be completed second) There are 21 columns of pier foundation. Install new footings and replace the pier foundation that is structurally adequate for the building. We are open to other recommendations to provide longevity to the building. (i.e. Block) Repair structurally deficient wood accompanying columns Remove and replace crumbling front steps with new (but similar in look). BID 3: Roofing – Priority 3 (Can proceed after Priorities 1&2) Remove and dispose of the existing shingle roof. (See Attachment 5!) Replace damaged or rotted sheathing as needed for the new roof. (Rafter tails as well) Install a new drip edge, ice guard, and synthetic roofing felt, trim, flashing etc. Install dark green steel roofing (cedar shake style) to match current historical style best. Must have the owner's approval of the selection. Note: The project should not change the roofline, sightline, or appearance of the roof in any significant way. BID items continue on next page… BID 4: General Construction activities – (Optional to bid) This is beyond the current grant scope for stabilization, but for potential rehab work with the Museum directly. Evaluate, repair, or replace to make safe and stable, keeping the original look of: (1) balcony and (1) porch. Scrape, repair wood, power wash, prime and paint the building. Keep original wood siding and cedar shakes. (Replace as needed). Note: Aluminum siding to be removed where installed.
