Michigan State University (MSU) seeks a vendor to develop and implement a comprehensive International Travel Authorization System that streamlines the approval, compliance, and risk management processes for international travel and remote work. The system must integrate with internal MSU systems, external risk data sources, and institutional compliance workflows while providing a user-friendly and secure platform for travelers, administrators, and review groups. At a high level, the system shall: Facilitate Pre-Trip Registration & Compliance Reviews: Enable travelers and delegates to submit international travel and remote work requests, with built-in compliance assessments and multi-group review workflows. • Automate Notifications & Risk Alerts: Provide real-time alerts, notifications, and automated messaging based on destination risks, compliance responses, and institutional policies. • Centralize Data & Reporting: Integrate with MSU’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and external data sources (e.g., State Department, CDC, ISOS) to provide a centralized view of global travel activities. • Enhance Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to federal regulations (e.g., NSPM33), institutional policies, and export control requirements while supporting secure authentication via MSU’s Single Sign-On (SSO). • Support Administrative Oversight: Provide dashboards, reporting tools, and configurable workflows for compliance officers, risk managers, and university leadership.
