HVAC: The City of Niles is looking for an HVAC provider to remove the old system and install a new HVAC system that meets the following criteria as well as all local and State codes: 1. Clearance The furnace should have at least 3 feet of clearance on all sides, with an additional 2 feet in the front for maintenance. 2. Location The furnace should be installed in an area with adequate ventilation to prevent exhaust gases from building up. It should also be close to an electrical outlet and gas line. 3. Combustion air The furnace needs to be able to take in enough combustion air. This can come from indoor or outdoor sources, and the size of the air supply opening depends on the furnace and ductwork. 4. Ductwork The ducts should be properly sized and positioned to provide enough fresh air. They should also be inspected for leaks, which can harm the furnace's efficiency. 5. Furnace size The furnace's size should be appropriate for the square footage of your home. 6. Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) The furnace should have an AFUE rating of at least 80%. 7. Circuit breaker Larger furnaces may require more than one circuit breaker. 8. Manufacturer's instructions & Warranty 9. The furnace manufacturer's instructions will be referenced prior to beginning installation and the warranty transferred to the homeowner upon installation.
