As one of the premier golf facilities in Michigan, the center is committed to grow the game of golf by offering cutting-edge golf instruction through highly respected golf instructors. The OUGLC maintains a practice range which is available to the affiliates, faculty, and staff. OUGLC also manages an impressive short game facility as well as a golf simulator. Requirements are as follows: 1) The Independent Contractor must be a trained PGA golf professional with impressive teaching credentials and experience. They must adhere to the standards and ethics set forth by Oakland University. The IC must have a background check prior to commencing work, as well as comply with all OU policies while on campus. They must also carry and present their identification at all times while at OUGLC. In addition, the IC must have the PGA insurance, at minimum. 2) The IC will focus on giving professional golf lessons to the OUGLC golf affiliates/customers. 3) Marketing will be coordinated with OUGLC and included on its website. The IC will ensure that they are operating productively and meeting mutually agreed upon written objectives. The IC will work directly with OU Golf Courses’ staff. There will be annual meetings to discuss best marketing formats. 4) The IC will offer customized club fitting to the affiliate base with results belonging to the golf shop to enhance customer satisfaction and product sales to the golf shop. Fit carts will be provided by OUGLC; however, they are the responsibility of the IC (i.e., if any are missing or damaged, they will be replaced by the IC.) Other duties of the IC will be to promoting and facilitating junior camps and developing relationships within the OU affiliate base.
