The City is seeking professional services from a competent engineering or consulting firm to perform an assessment of generators at various City facilities. It is expected that this work will be broken into two phases, the first of which is included in this bid package. This first phase will include an assessment of the current generators to determine what, if any, replacements or improvements are necessary. If warranted, the second phase will include work associated with bid specification development, bid review and recommendation, and project oversight. The second phase of this work will be bid as a separate project based on the results of this first phase. Specifically, the City is seeking the following services at each location: 1) Assess the state of the current generators and transfer switches and controls, including but not limited to: a. Age b. Condition c. Expected remaining useful life d. Compliance with existing code 2) Work with City staff to identify the future needs at the various buildings to determine if the existing generator(s) meet those needs 3) Identify solutions based on the needs and current state assessment, including estimated costs for each solution 4) Identify a timeline for improvements or replacements 5) Identify grants or funding opportunities 6) Prepare a final report that documents the findings and site-specific recommendations
