Service #1 of 1: Foster Care Supportive Visitation/In-Home Parent Education Activities the Contractor must perform: The Contractor must: 1) Provide intake services: a) Ensure the assigned visit coach must make telephone or in-person contact with the referring worker within 5 business days of the referral (or when case is assigned from the Wait List) to discuss: 1. The reason for referral 2. Goals and objectives 3. Confirmation of receipt of the written referral (the written referral must be received prior to the initial home visit) 4. Arrangement of how the parent(s) and child(ren) will be transported to visits b) For each referral assigned to a visit coach, the visit coach must: 1. Conduct a home visit on a mutually agreeable date for the initial interview with the parent(s) within 10 business days from the date of the referral (or when case is assigned from the waitlist) to: (a) Describe the program to the parent(s) and explain the following participation expectations: i. The parent(s) must maintain consistent participation in the program and weekly attendance is expected. ii. Excused absences (court, etc.) must be approved in advance and the visit rescheduled. iii. No show or unexcused sessions must not exceed four over the course of the program. iv. Each case must include all 16 weekly parent education/visitation sessions. Absences must be made up either during the week of the originally scheduled session or the following week and therefore lessons be pushed back to allow for the make-up of missed session. (b) Obtain identification information of the parent(s) and family members (c) Inquire of the parent(s) what he/she thinks his/her child(ren) will want from them when he/she visits 2) Provide transportation as needed, for the parent(s) and/or child(ren) to and from the location of the visit. 3) Utilize the following assessment tools to assess the parent(s) knowledge relative to the parenting and child development understanding: a) Adult-Adolescent Parenting Inventory (AAPI) b) Nurturing Skills Competency Scale-Long Version and/or The Nurturing Quiz for School Age Children. 4) Administer the Nurturing Skills Competency Scale Long-Version and/or The Nurturing Quiz for School Age Children and AAPI as a pre-test within 10 business days of receipt of the referral (or when case is assigned from the Wait List). 5) Administer the AAPI as a post-test to parent(s) upon successful completion of the program for the purposes of measuring the improvement of his/her knowledge relative to parenting and child development issues. The post-test should not be administered any earlier than lesson 16. Administer the Nurturing Skills Competency Scale-Long Version and or the Nurturing Quiz for School Age Children as a post-test for the purposes of measuring improvement. The post-test should not be administered any earlier than lesson 16.
