Specifications include, but are not limited to: MSHP is planning to relocate the primary visitor entrance to Fort Mackinac from it’s current location on the north side of the fort, east to the existing historic north sally gate entrance (see attached aerial for reference). The project is to include a new ADA compliant path from Huron Road to the north sally entrance. New signage, flag poles and landscaping located at Huron Road and the path entrance which creates a new grand entrance to the Fort. Relocation and any necessary modifications of the existing ticket booth structure to the north sally gate entrance and a new gate system to control visitors entering and leaving the Fort while allowing deliveries into the Fort.
