The re-manufacturing of Cummins Inc. heavy-duty diesel engines and the re-manufacturing of Allison heavy-duty transmissions that are used in urban transit buses operated by the City of Detroit, Department of Transportation (DDOT). ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) FEATURES The engine manufacturer shall verify that the ECM and program shall be the manufacturer’s most current model and shall include, but is not limited to the following features: A. Minimum of 30 days ECM integral data recorder, or DDOT approved equal. Records: o Trip activity o Vehicle Speed/RPM o Over Speed/Over Rev. o Engine Load/RPM o Vehicle Configuration o Periodic Maintenance (minimum three intervals) o Hard Brake (minimum last two brake events) o Last Stop Record (minimum last two minutes of bus motion) o Diagnostic Records (minimum last three fault codes) o Profile (small trip data set for wireless extraction) o Monthly Activity (current month and two previous) o Life-To-Date o Daily Engine Usage (minimum last thirty days) B. Catalytic converter or other exhaust after treatment systems temperature sensor with automatic over temperature engine shutdown. C. SAE J 1939 and SAE J 1587 compliant. D. Windows 2010 compatible or the latest operating system commonly in use for data extraction, diagnostics or downloadable information to laptop, desktop or other computer program driven equipment. E. Internal clock/calendar with internal battery, or DDOT approved equal.
