1. Review & Feedback on Job Posting ○ Review the provided job description for the Legislative Services Attorney. ○ Offer recommendations for refinement or enhancement, if applicable. 2. Candidate Identification & Recruitment ○ Conduct nation-wide outreach to identify and attract highly qualified candidates with expertise in Tribal, federal, and administrative law. ○ Prioritize candidates with experience in legislative drafting, Indian law, intergovernmental relations, and public policy. ○ Include a focus on candidates with a commitment to Tribal sovereignty and self-determination. 3. Screening & Evaluation ○ Conduct preliminary screenings and background checks in accordance with WOS 2002-04 Tribal Preference Statute (see Attached). ○ Confirm licensure status, relevant case experience, and writing samples. ○ Provide a qualified shortlist of candidates to LTBB Tribal Council.
