Specifications include, but are not limited to: Establish all boundary lines and GPS all Stands and Units. Mark all Stands. Cruising will be completed by DNR staff. When marking, prioritize selection of trees to be cut in the following order:1.Target basal area of120sq. ft. Focus on even spacing of residual trees.2.Remove red pine 17 inches or greater at DBH.3.Remove suppressed trees, damaged trees, and deformed trees.4.Create a ½ chain buffer, marking all trees within this buffer, in areas that exhibit red pine pocket mortality. A GPSlocation must be submitted for all areas containing red pine pocket mortality.5.Remove jack pine and aspen, where present.6.Marking should be adjusted in areas that exhibit tight rows and operability is a concern.
