Specifications include, but are not limited to: Stand 27 (PU 2) – Clearcut with Retention. Cut all species present. Leave all Hemlock. Leave any white pine within hemlock inclusions while cruising. If hemlock inclusions are not significant in the stand, leave conifer retention pockets. Stand 28 (PU’s 3-6) – Single Tree Selection. Thin stand to 70-90 BA targeting larger diameter trees to open the canopy to aid in regeneration of Northern Hardwoods. Remove all beech, balsam fir, and aspen. Leave spruce over 14". Leave all Hemlock. Leave all white pine over 16". Buffer water bodies according to BMP guidelines. Stand 29 (PU 1) – Single Tree Selection. Thin stand 70-90 BA. Remove all spruce, aspen, and balsam fir. Leave any hemlock present. Stand area may change after prep is complete. Stand 33 (PU 7) – Single Tree Selection. Thin stand to 70-90 BA. Remove all aspen, balsam fir. Leave any beech that are healthy in appearance.
