Specifications include, but are not limited to: - Stand 2: Modified strip clearcut - The strips will be approximately 150 feet wide and run east west the length of the stand, harvesting 1/2 the total stand acreage cutting all trees greater than 2" (except cedar 4" spec) within the strip’s boundary. Strips should be oriented in an east-west or northeast-southwest fashion, stemming from the road to the west. Areas outside of the strips will be retention. Winter harvest due to saturated soils. - Stand 9: Cut all species present. Retention 3 - 10% in the form of pockets that are as diverse as possible located in widest part of the stand. - Stand 29: Cut all merchantable species present. Winter or dry summer harvest. Pocket retention in the widest part, 3 - 5%; diverse conifer pockets may serve as retention. Leave aspen in the red line adjacent to Stand 33. Stand acreage may change based on merchantability upon sale prep. - Stand 30: Cut all species present. Pocket retention in the widest part, 3 - 10%; diverse conifer pockets may serve as retention. Retain aspen in the redline near Stand 33 where it exists. Southern portions of the stand will be winter or dry summer. - Stand 31: Cut all species. Retention will be along creek. Leave some trees along the snowmobile trail road to help protect the wildlife corridor. Leave scattered (approx. 1 tree / 5 acres) white birch, aspen & conifer for additional retention and wildlife value. - Stand 34 & 97: Strip cuts approximately 150 feet in width running east and west the length of the stand, harvesting approximately 50% of the stand area. Within the strips, harvest all species creating a new age class of regen. Areas outside of the strips will be retention. The best layout will be determined upon sale prep; it is recommended that the strips run east/west perpendicular to a north/south access road.
