Specifications include, but are not limited to: Sawlogs, MARKING SYMBOL Slash on 2 sides, MINIMUM DBH 10.6”, TOP DOB 10.0"; Pulpwood, MARKING SYMBOL Slash on 2 sides, MINIMUM DBH 4.6”, TOP DOB 4.0". Trees marked to be cut in blue paint; • Pulpwood and sawtimber marks will be a single paint slash well-marked on both sides of the tree, all marked trees must have stump marks. Keep slash marks high for visibility above snow during winter harvest (~6 feet above ground level). Stump marks must be well-marked in order to last several years and intersect the ground. • Be aware that there may be small, unmapped wetlands or drainways nested within the marking units. Look for signs of bed/bank along with plant species that are known to occupy wet sites. Exact buffering requirements for unmapped wetlands and drainways will be addressed at the pre-work meeting. • Be aware of all slopes while marking. For slopes between 18-35%, mark to support logging operations and to avoid erosion/soils damage. All slopes deemed inoperable and/or greater than 35% will be excluded by not marking these areas
