Specifications include, but are not limited to: Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) is looking to redesign and renovate the existing Powder Magazine facility. The existing Powder Magazine facility is an enclosure that surrounds and protects the burned wood remains of the original Fort Michilimackinac Powder Magazine and is accessed through the lower level of the South Southeast Rowhouse. Currently there are issues with humidity causing mold and deterioration of the wood structure remains. There is no HVAC system for the Powder Magazine, with only local dehumidifiers in the space. The project shall include an assessment of the existing enclosure and what can be done to mitigate and or control moisture along with development of a new HVAC or dehumidification system. Work will also include development of a visitor access control system (sealed door system) from the upper level of the South Southeast Rowhouse to the lower level where the Powder Magazine viewing is accessed.
