The Services requested shall include: Providing transportation services for seniors from their respective senior homes to the Eastern Market, Shed No. 3, by 11:00 am. and then drop-off from Eastern Market, Shed No. 3, to designated Senior Citizen Centers between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm (boundaries flexible). Organizing the logistics for pickup and drop-off from 91 senior homes (separated by Detroit’s 7 districts—see Attachment B). Ensuring ADA-compliant buses of all sizes are available for transportation. Additional ADA buses may be required to aid in moving seniors bound to wheelchairs. Safe and timely transportation of seniors to the Eastern Market. Efficient coordination of pickup and drop-off logistics. Buses shall remain available to perform Services for the duration of the Event day. In the event of a Bus breakdown, the Contractor shall provide prompt replacement transportation to ensure that the schedule for the Event is met. The Contractor shall also be responsible for loss claims by passengers, and for baggage and equipment while stored onboard the Bus. The Event Coordinator will provide passenger count updates from the locations prior to the Event. Successful bidders shall meet with the Event Coordinator from Councilwoman Mary Waters’ Office a week prior to the Event date to receive their individual assignments, passenger manifests and staging and parking details, if any, for the day of the Event.
