The new installation is expected to generally fit within the existing footprint unless a different concept is recommended. The existing installation shall be evaluated to determine the extent of the improvements deemed necessary. The extent of the scope shall generally be from the upstream valve chamber #3 to the bypass 12-inch wye connection and is expected to include replacement of the existing muffin monster. Some controls investigation and upgrades will also include connection to the facility network at the administration building. Include all specialty subcontracted services necessary to plan the improvements (surveying, scanning, sewer cleaning/inspection, etc.). The following are some of the specific challenges anticipated with the proposed improvements: 1. The existing structure may restrict how the existing bar screen is removed and the new is installed. 2. Assessment of hazardous location classifications and need for air quality monitoring/alerts. 3. HVAC system assessment and upgrades deemed necessary. 4. Ability to bypass the bar screen and limiting the period(s) of bypass operations as much as practical. 5. Controls improvements to allow the system to be monitored/controlled through the facility network. It is understood that the system has some wireless connectivity including adjacent domestic water pump alerts but upgrading to a wired connection should be considered. 6. General recommended repair or maintenance upgrades to the building, lighting or other elements.
