Assist with the investigation and risk assessment of the contamination associated with releases from former underground storage tank systems and other miscellaneous releases at multiple sites across the State. The EGLE estimates that approximately 250 sites statewide will be investigated. The actual number of sites is unknown, and some districts may nominate more sites for investigation than others due to the number of open and uninvestigated releases in the counties they cover. EGLE’s Remediation & Redevelopment Division (RRD) has the geographic boundaries of each of the following ten district offices: Upper Peninsula District, Gaylord District Office, Cadillac District Office, Bay City District Office, Lansing District Office, Warren District Office, Detroit District Office, Kalamazoo District Office, Jackson District Office, and Grand Rapids District Office. The Upper Peninsula District Office will be split into two (eastern and western) geographic areas for assignments and bidding purposes. The actual number of sites will vary between each district office boundary but will likely be proportional to the population and total number of sites in the geographic boundary (e.g. The Detroit District will likely have more sites than 20 sites while the Cadillac District will likely have less than 20 sites).
