Specifications include, but are not limited to: Snow and ice control scope of services to be provided: The safety of all students, staff, and community is our top priority. The snow and ice control services to be provided shall generally consist of the specific tasks and deliverables outlined below, and as directed by the Facilities Manager or designated school representative on an as-needed basis. Depending on needs determined by the Facilities Manager, the duties and tasks during any given day or week, the following services may change, increase, or decrease. All services will be scheduled and directed by the Facilities Manager or designated school representative. ● The clearing of all parking lots and sidewalks to bare asphalt is included in this agreement, as well as clearing a path to all fire hydrants, fire department hook-ups, and all exterior doors. Additionally, there must be a clear maintained/plowed path around the back of the school (on top of the grass) for emergency vehicles to access the building. ● Communicate with the Facilities Manager or designated school representative before any snow, ice, freezing rain, or refreezing event to develop a plan to address the weather-related conditions. ● Pre-treat all lots and walkways just before (at the onset of) the weather-related event starts. (Schedule the timing of the pretreating with the Facilities Manager or designated school representative). ● Post-storm ice control must be applied after the final clean-up of each storm. ● Re-freezing ice control will be communicated as early as possible. ● It is the expectation of the school that the contractor will physically recheck all the lots and walks after a storm clean up by 5 am of the day that the school is set to resume function and communicate with the Facilities manager or designated school representative as to any further actions (re-ice control treating, touching up of any snow blowback, etc.) needed. ● It is also the expectation of the school that the contractor makes all efforts to maintain the parking lots and walks in a safe and passable condition for liability reasons but will also communicate with the Facilities Manager or designated school representative about excessive ice control applications to prevent excessive tracking into the school building. ● The school typically makes a snow delay or cancelation by 5:30 am. The contractor must be available to ensure the lots and walks are cleared to the asphalt and not slippery by the school opening. (School staff arrive at 7 am and students by 7:45 am) ● The contractor will work with the Facilities Manager or designated school representative to accomplish any and all snow and ice control work with as little as possible disruption to the school function. ● The school supplies a walk-behind snowblower, icemelt, and application tools for all sidewalks for the contractor to use. Additional equipment and icemelt that the contractor would like to use must be approved by the Facilities Manager or designated school representative.
