Specifications include, but are not limited to: This DESE-19 RFR is being reopened to identify additional qualified providers to administer the DESE/DDS Community Residential Prevention Program (DESE/DDS Program). Qualified providers will work with children/young adults with intellectual and closely related disabilities and their families to direct the use of funding from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This reopened RFR contains information regarding the DESE/DDS Program. This program is designed to provide an increased level of support services to families to assist them in providing wrap-around supports to children who have been identified to be in need of services to avoid a more restrictive educational placement, and to support families in their child’s return from a residential school placement. The intent of the program is to increase family capacity to support their child in the home and community, as well as to provide an individualized plan of supports that promotes skill building, independence, and social integration across the spectrum of the child’s home, school and community.
