The purpose of the CJSC is to provide an alternative to prison and jail that combines treatment, education, career services, and other programs that adhere to evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism and strengthen communities. The CJSC shall serve as the venue for a variety of justice interventions and programs including, but not limited to, those provided by statute such as the facilitation of intensive supervision for those at high risk for recidivism, pretrial treatment and service programs, probation officer referrals, and re-entry service programs. The CJSC shall accept clients from, and collaborate with, the Massachusetts Trial Court, Probation, Parole, Sheriff’s Departments, and the Department of Correction (DOC). The OCC reserves the right to direct additional clients to the CJSC as appropriate. Services delivered pursuant to the contract shall follow OCC standards, definitions, protocols, and policies.
